Solistice 2012 and Mayan Calendar

This solstice, December 21st 2012 at 7:12 am is almost certainly the most important solstice we will all live through. For this solstice coincides with the “end” of the Mayan Calendar. The Mayans know this day as simply 13.0.0.0.0 or the end of the 13th Bak’tun (bahk-toon). It’s similar to the year 2000 for us, but Bak’tuns are 144,000 days or 394.26 years.

The only thing the Mayans think that the 14th Bak’tun will bring peace and understanding, let’s hope so.

The Casbah members will be split up this Winter Solstice, some sleeping because they work the following day, some waking up in the middle of the desert blowing conch shells, some at sweat lodge ceremonies. But despite that they will all be there in spirit making sure the sun comes up once again.

A few, Malibu, Cider and myself, will be bringing in the new Bak’tun in NYC. Rampaging the streets of NYC on foot and by bike, with a candle always burning.
